I was taking pictures today of a fountain at a financial institution with the namesake of Ben Franklin. While old Ben believed in freedom, this financial institution does not. A security guard came out and shooed me away, telling me that I could not take pictures on the grounds. I was free to walk around the grounds, but was not free to sit down on any of the benches. He gave me a convoluted explaination of post 9/11, cameras, and liability if I broke my leg (sitting down I guess) or they gave me an aspirin.
Ironically, I was on the grounds over the weekend, taking all kinds of pictures of their buildings. No one came out and shooed me away. Apparently Securitas (and terrorists) do not work on weekends. But the water to the fountain was turned off, so I couldn’t get a picture which is why I came back. Further stupidity is that I could take all the pictures of their buildings that I wanted to from the public roadway with a modest 3X zoom. If I had the money, I would buy a small drone plane, fit it with a camera, and fly it over the airspace above their buildings. I'm pretty sure the airspace over their buildings is not protected. It is right next to a horse race track and an apartment/shopping complex with lots of people walking around. I think I'll go and have some Freedom Fries now.

Oh, that is ironic! I love the vantage point you chose for this shot.
July 5, day after "Freedom Day".
